Royalists were Hawaiian patriots, both natives and nationals, in support of the monarchy and its independence—as opposed to reformists, annexationists who supported the oligarchy dead set on overthrowing the Kingdom and annexing Hawaiʻi’s sovereignty to the United States.
The Royalist blackletter (aka Old English, the OG Hawaiian classic) kept clean and simple. We paid special attention to perfecting the letter form and spacing. On the back is our royal raptor, the ʻio, and on the sleeve we've added a small woven label embellishment just to finish it off proper. Printed right down the road from us in Heʻeia, Koʻolaupoko.
